heres what steve of vanashing point said about the gig
.
Tuesday night saw us at Tommy Turtle's New Inn in Walton for the return of local rock band, Blush
.
The 'unique' layout of the pub means a good vantage isn't always easy but there was a great atmosphere before the band took to the stage
Five guys on stage meant that Lenny (lead/rhythm guitar) and Steve (bass and backing vox) had to keep alternating back and forth on stage to get to the mic with the latter spending a lot of the gig perched on a barstool at the back!
.
Opening with a stomping Ever Fallen in Love by the Buzzcocks, the crowd was immediately rocking and the pub soon started to warm up. Singer Chris's laid back delivery contrasted with big Johnny's frenetic guitar riffing as they stormed through a long list of classic rockers, Substitute, She Sells Sanctuary, Ziggy Stardust, Rock'n'Roll, My Generation, America, Chelsea Dagger, to name just a few
We even got another Led Zep song which everyone seemed to know but couldn't remember the name of!
.Best position in the pub was about 10 feet back, next to the bar (obviously) which seemed to give the best sound quality without being deafened by Nige's pounding drums. Unfortunately we had to leave just before the end of the second set to let our babysitter get home before midnight, but rest assured, we will be back at the front for the next gig of these veteran rockers!
